Poker Chip Design

Poker chip's first design on 3DS Max - Used a simple round sphere increased its height and made sure it's width and depth were set to the correct and identical measurements.

After I had cloned the chip's sphere and used the polygon tool to connect them together, I made them solid shapes and then increased its height and colour. This gives the poker chip depth and more realism.

This is the poker chip design that I made on photoshop and while importing into 3DS Max from youtube tutorials, I found it slightly difficult but caught the hang of it in the end, I decided just the 007 looked good on the poker chip in the end and stuck with that. (see below).

This is my finished poker chip and I have added 4 separate materials on it to make it more realistic. This is black poker chip and would be of high value on my poker table that I will be doing soon. This chip has been designed in a way where the raised ages (see above posts) can be slotted in to the parts that are not raised. Technically make the chips perfectly stackable in 3DS and will look good as the white edges will not be perfectly aligned. Which wouldn't be ever in real life. The dots(materials) applied to the poker chip are what are actually on real poker chips as I believe they are made out of recyclable plastic or wood chips, or both.

This is the stage I am, I will probably rest for the weekend.

Mood board for James Bond Casino Royale

Here is the mood board that I created for my first piece of private study and this was created in photoshop and exported as JPEG. I am choosing to a digital and a physical copy. That way I am searching two different types of media. - Some of the ideas from this mood and texture ideas will help me in my 3DS Max Modelling.

Background Research

Watching James Bond

I have watched the film james bond - Casino Royale as the storyline of this james bond film is what I found the most interesting and considering I have competitive and risk taking qualities. seemed like the best thing to do! This is something I want to do and is definitely something I am excited for after reading the majority of story lines from IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=james+bond), as after all I haven't seen them all!

I am beginning my Mood Board tonight and will be searching through all sorts of places form magazines, newspapers and the internet. I will be searching through AutoTrader to see if I can find the car that was used in the film; which was the Aston Martin DBS.

I am already buzzing with ideas on this assignment!

Finished Taj Mahal

TAJ MAHAL

This is the Taj mahal that I worked in during my first class of 3D Modelling and Animation. This was the first ever 3D Model that I ever made and I am, (in my opinion) veyr happy with this. I have not used the polygon tool yet, and in a way felt like I cheated slightly by pushing the shapes into one another. I am confused at the as the platform, Alias is slightly confusing but i feel over the forthcoming weeks and richards direction that it shouldn't be long for I hopefully master it.

This is simple but hopefully portrays what the actual building is.

3D Modelling and Animation Module Guide

Seems likes a great project.

We were asked to pick a james bond film and make a trailor in 3D for this. This is something I am looking forward to and I really think that the whole project is going to be exactly what I need to do!

James bond theme and is going to be very important, I am already looking at movies and I am thinking of doing casino royale.
